A Marathon with a sprint

A major improvement is underway in the characteristic Marathonbuurt. Housing corporation Stadgenoot is starting this year with the sustainability upgrade and improvement of 302 homes on and around Marathonweg. The homes, built around 1930, form a recognizable part of the neighborhood. Through targeted maintenance and sustainability measures, the houses are being prepared for the future. This includes better insulation, more energy-efficient facilities, and general quality restoration.

The work is being carried out by contractor Biltz, who is responsible for the technical execution of the project. During an intervention of this magnitude, proper guidance for residents is essential. Therefore, Welna Woningservice is providing temporary accommodation in the form of thirty guest homes for residents who must leave their homes during the works.

Welna ensures that residents can count on a fully furnished, comfortable temporary home. Personal support is central to this. From arranging the move to lending a listening ear during the transition period — the goal is to keep the impact on residents as minimal as possible.
